Cauliflower

Cauliflower is from Brassica Oleracea in the genus Brassica (Brassicaceae or Mustard family). At very first sight it looks like its cousin broccoli. As one may observe the tight bunches of it are covered by a thick core, often with few light leaves around it. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Arab botanists like Ibnul-Awwam suggested its origin in Cyprus. Interestingly, the name of the vegetable is from the Latin word caulis (cabbage) and flos (flower).
